Website of Dan J. O'Boy, Structural Dynamics, Vibration and Acoustic Engineer
This provides details of work carried out in problems of structural dynamics, vibrations and structure-borne acoustic propagation. You will find information on industrial problems and current collaborations. Many of these are not specific to one industrial sector and the technical work can be transposed.
Examples include tyre vibration and dynamic behaviour, including real time prediction of off-road tractive performance or tyre cavity noise, Noise Vibration and Harshness (NVH) variability, turbocharger surge noise, gas turbine engine acoustic liner design and acoustic meta-materials.
I am a Chartered Mechanical Engineer accredited through the Engineering Council and a member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers. I am also a member of the Higher Education Authority.
If you would like to know more or you have an industrial problem you wish to discuss, please contact me by email or phone.
I am a Lecturer in Structural Dynamics as a member of the Department of Aeronautical and Automotive Engineering, Loughborough University. A link to these departments can be found below with a comprehensive list of the skills, projects and industrial links available.
